Duty Free - "I love duty free - how much can i bring back?"

We love getting our duty free. It wise to know that whilst in the EU you can only but duty tobacco and alcohol for personal usage. You are not allowed to purchase these items for resale in your own country.

What are the penalties?

If you are suspected of this your items will be confiscated. You also run the risk of having your vehicle taken away. In extreme cases there is the possiblity of getting a jail sentence. No one wants to go to jail.

HM Customs and Excise has therefore issued a decree not only based on the amount of goods you are entering into the country. Check with the Customs and Excise site for the most recent amounts that you are allowed.
