It's wise to remember that some countries will not allow entrance if your passport expiry date is under 6 months. Always check the countries’ requirements before you purchase your holiday.

Always:

• Take a 2nd form of identification. It's best to have a photo-supported passport
• Keep a photocopy of your passport. Keep this separate to the actual document. Including the passport number and issue date
• Photocopy your passport and leave it with a contact in the UK

The UK Passport Service is where all UK passports are issued from, it is an executive agency of the Home Office. There are quite a few procedures when getting your passport. Give yourself plenty of time to fill out the application(should you need a new one) as the waiting time could long. Also there might be other complications with the apploication form or the passport may get lost in the post.
