Advice on entering another country

Taking heed of this helpful advice, you can reduce the chances of getting into trouble:

  • Never leave your luggage unattended. Not only can people tamper with it, but unattended baggage almost always causes some sort of security alert.
  • Keep all your important documents such as passport, wallet and tickets out of sight and close to you. Bum bags can be a helpful way keeping stuff safe.
  • It goes without saying but NEVER carry any type of weapon or sharp objects in your hand luggage. Any such items that can be used offensively will are not allowed. Security officers are likely to interrogate you as to why you carrying these items. It is also likely to cause delays.

What to do when in another company:

  • Do not keep your money in full view especially in public places - You will make yourself a prime target for a mugging - you don't want that!
  • Get yourself used to the area - Avoid high crime areas - tourists stick out like a sore thumb in new places.
  • Only take as much money you need that day - Use credit and debit cards to pay for your items. Remember stolen money cannot be recovered.
